Boeken ter recensering

Op zoek naar een gratis goed boek over kwalitatief onderzoek? Dan ben je bij ons aan het juist adres. In ruil voor je onderbouwde mening over het boek, krijg je 'm van ons cadeau!

Wij zoeken mensen die boeken willen recenseren voor het methodologisch tijdschrift KWALON. Het gaat om het schrijven van een recensie waarin je beargumenteerd je oordeel geeft over een boek over kwalitatief onderzoek of kwalitatieve methodologie.
Er zijn twee manieren om mee te doen. Je kunt een boek kiezen uit de selectie die wij hebben gemaakt (zie hieronder). Je kunt ook zelf een boek aandragen ter recensie.

Als je geInteresseerd bent, stuur dan een e-mail naar de boekenredacteur, Friso Coumou. E-mail: FRISO[apenstaartje]COUMOU[punt]EU. Vermeld in je e-mail je naam, telefoonnummer en het boek of onderzoeksrapport waar het om gaat. Als je zelf een boek aandraagt, neem dan de volledige titelgegevens op (auteur, titel, uitgever, jaar van uitgifte). We nemen dan contact met je op om afspraken te maken over jouw recensie. Bij plaatsing in KWALON krijg je een exemplaar toegezonden van het nummer waarin jouw artikel is opgenomen.

Guest, G. & MacQueen, K., Handbook for Team-Based Qualitative Research (2007) Oxford: AltaMira Press, ISBN 0759109109, x pp.
Guest and MacQueen and their associates provide an important introduction to the basic methodology for team-based qualitative research in the social sciences. The authors are anthropologists and health practitioners with extensive experience in collaborative research. Ethnography, and qualitative research in general, has become increasingly interdisciplinary and team-oriented. The transition away from the lone-ethnographer approach to collaborative and inter-institutional research creates new challenges for research designs. The authors build on an initial definition of team-based research, using examples from both American and international studies, to show how a team-based method affects project preparation and design, data analysis and the integrity of research findings. The book includes numerous methods for enhancing the integrity of research findings throughout all stages of the research process: project preparation, data collection and management, and analysis and presentation of results.

As in many public domains, in criminal justice too we are currently seeing a 'deliberative shift': the solution is sought in transparency, rational explanation and increased participation, and reckons with responsive criminal courts. In this, mediation between perpetrators and victims forms a relatively new search area surrounding the criminal process, besides modalities such as the right to be heard of victims and experiments with the reasoning of judgments. The central element is always that the lifeworld of presumably emancipated citizens is given a larger role. However, despite all the efforts made, this unilateral responsive direction appears to be effective only to a limited extent. In this book I elaborate through mediation practice how this sense of unease may be better understood.

In dit themanummer van het tijdschrift Medische Antropologie wordt stil gestaan bij de rol van intersubjectiviteit in antropologisch onderzoek en met name het gebruik van intersubjectiviteit als analytisch instrument. Nadat de verschillende betekenissen van intersubjectiviteit zijn geintroduceerd door Vysma en Tankink, gaan negen onderzoekers in op de rol en betekenis van dit thema in hun eigen onderzoek.
